Announcing Winter 2021 Self Reliance Courses

Posted on January 31, 2021March 25, 2021

Dear Stake Members,

As a Stake Presidency we are very excited to be offering our winter self-reliance courses to all who are interested, starting the third week of February.  We will be offering 2 different courses as follows:

Emotional Resilience – This is an amazing course designed to help increase emotional resilience for all who desire.  Members who choose to participate will learn skills such as:

  • Healthy Thinking Patterns
  • Managing Stress and Anxiety
  • Understanding Sadness & Depression
  • Overcoming Anger
  • Building Healthy Relationships
  • Moving forward with faith, etc.

This course requires a 10 week time commitment of approximately 1 ½ to 2 hours a week, but we promise the tools obtained and the skills learned will be worth the investment.

With regards to the emotional resilience course, we are hoping to offer 3 groups consisting of approximately 10-12 individuals in each group in order to accommodate everyone’s various schedules as best as possible (assuming we have enough interest).  We may hold some groups virtually depending on response.

These groups will be starting the week of February 15 and are currently scheduled for the following days and times at the stake center:

  • Tuesday  Evening  Emotional Resilience 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Thursday Morning  Emotional Resilience 10:00am to 11:30 a.m.
  • Thursday Evening  Emotional Resilience 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Please register for this course using the following link:

Personal Finance – This is an excellent course if you have a desire to increase your financial prowess by learning skills such as budgeting, getting out of debt, investments, etc.  This course requires a 12 week time commitment of approximately 2 hours a week.

We will be offering two Personal Finance courses that also begin the week of February 15 with the following days and times at the stake center:

  • Tuesday Evening  Personal Finances 7:00p.m. to 8:30p.m.
  • Thursday Evening  Personal Finances 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Please register for this course using the following link: www.spokanestake.org/self-reliance

We extend the promise from the First Presidency that as you learn from and participate in these groups that you will be blessed with greater hope and peace and progress.  These are blessing we all could benefit from during these challenging times.  Thank you so much for all you do.  We are grateful for your support and service.

Hi there! I love the idea of this emotional resilience course! I tried to register, but the links aren’t taking me to a registration page. Any ideas? Thanks!
