Palouse Ward Created During Special Sacrament Meeting Karl Otterstrom, April 10, 2016January 21, 2024 On April 10, 2016 the Stake Presidency convened a special sacrament meeting of the Lincoln Heights, Moran Prairie and Spokane 6th wards. The following stake business took place at the meeting: – The new Palouse Ward was organized from segments of the 6th and Moran Prairie wards. Timothy Cobb was called as the first bishop of the Palouse Ward. – The boundaries of the Spokane 6th ward were reduced with the creation of the Palouse Ward, while taking in parts of the Lincoln Heights Ward, and Jason Richardson was called as the bishop of the ward. – The boundaries of the Moran Prairie Ward were realigned to take in parts of the Spokane 6th ward while adjusting the westward boundary to the east to accommodate the new Palouse Ward. Tim Powell continues as bishop of the ward. – The Lincoln Heights Ward boundary was adjusted such that the area north of Mission Avenue and south and east of the Spokane River are now in the Spokane 6th Ward. Phil Huber continues as bishop of the ward. – All those individuals with ward callings who are impacted by the changes (i.e. no longer in their ward in which the call was associated) were effectively released. The attached map depicts the boundary adjustments. Please note the boundaries of the Palouse Ward outside of the map are the same as that of the 6th Ward before the changes. In the coming days, maps.lds.org will be updated to reflect these boundaries. Sunday meeting times and locations were noted: – Spokane 6th Ward continues to meet at the Havana Building (4444 East 43rd), with Sacrament meeting beginning at 9 am – Lincoln Heights Ward continues to meet at the Regal Building (2721 E 63rd Ave) and begins its meeting block at 9 am – Moran Prairie Ward continues to meet at the Regal Building and begins its meeting block at 11 am – Palouse Ward will meet at the Regal Building and begins its meeting block at 1 pm President Moseley concluded the meeting by reminding us that th Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most powerful agent for change on the face of the earth. The congregation closed the meeting by singing “I’ll go where you want me to go.” We appreciate everyone’s efforts in serving in their new, or newly adjusted wards.
