Combined Ward Youth and Primary Programs Results in Adjustments to Sunday Meeting Schedule

New Sunday meeting schedules in two meetinghouses were announced today in connection with the combining of youth and primary programs for several wards in the stake. Sunday meeting changes take effect Sunday, March 10, 2024.

Bishops in the Moran Prairie and Spokane 1st wards announced, with stake presidency approval, the two wards will combine forces in delivering programs, classes and activities for youth and primary children. This will include overlapping meeting times in the Regal Building for what is often referred to a second-hour classes and quorum meetings. Bishops in the Spokane 2nd and Manito wards made a similar announcement with a corresponding change in the Stake Center. Affected wards also reorganized young women and primary presidencies as part of the changes. The overall purpose is to provide a more fulfilling experience for youth and primary children in these wards in efforts to help them come unto Christ.

The changes necessitated adjustments to meeting times for other church units meeting in the same buildings. Further details were announced via a letter from the stake presidency to the stake council and bishoprics in the stake and read in the Lincoln Heights Ward, Regal Branch, and Palouse Ward. Dear Brothers and Sisters:                              

With approval of the Stake Presidency, beginning next Sunday, March 10, 2024, several wards in the stake will implement combined youth and primary programs. The purpose of this change is to provide a more fulfilling experience for youth and primary children in the respective wards’ efforts to help youth and children come unto Christ. As part of the changes, the wards will meet separately for sacrament meeting but will combine youth and primary classes during the 2nd hour blocks.

The wards implementing these changes include Moran Prairie and 1^st wards at the Regal Building, and Manito and 2^nd wards at the Stake Center. The arrangements will be somewhat similar to the existing combined youth and primary programs in the Lincoln Heights Ward and Regal Branch. The wards now implementing these changes will have youth and primary leaders called from each ward to support classes and quorums that are similarly blended in their class and quorum presidencies. Generally, each ward will continue to meet separately for adult classes and quorum meetings.

Sunday meeting schedules will necessarily change as follows:
